The pandemic has given a lot of families the opportunity to spend time with each other, something that is not always possible to do when the schedules are hectic. You also get the opportunity to work on your fitness and improve your health. If you are looking for some ways in which you can exercise with your spouse or partner, we have some tips for you. Take a look at the best couple workout routines to follow and you will start feeling a lot better a lot sooner!
- Jogging –
Start off with some light jogging. This is important if you have been leading a largely sedentary lifestyle. Jog and increase your stamina before you proceed to the more intense workout routines. - Cycling –
If jogging doesn’t excite you too much, take your cycles out and go for long cycle rides together. This isn’t just an enjoyable thing to do, it is also extremely effective as cycling is considered to be one of the best and safest exercises. - Sit-ups –
Ask your partner to hold down your ankles when you do the sit-ups and you do the same for him/her. - Push-ups –
Give a spin to the usual push up and pass a hi-five to your partner every time you push your body up. Fun- yes, effect – double! - Hook squats –
Touch each other’s back and hook your hands in an entwined manner. Then rotate from one side to the other, while sitting in a squat position. - Back-touch wall sits –
Touch your backs together and press. Cross your arms and touch your shoulders. Spread your knees. Then squat together and come back up together. The backs should be together at all times. - Throw and squat –
This is another high-intensity workout that can induce many giggles. Keep a softball next to you, while you face your partner. You squat, while your partner stands. Let him/her throw the ball to you and squat down, while you stand up and grab the ball. Then you throw the ball and squat while he/she stands back up and catches the ball and throws. Keep repeating. - Rotational twist –
Take a heavy object, such as a medical ball. If not available, fill a water bottle and use it. Touch your backs together and squat. Then one partner will turn left and pass the ball while the other partner turns right to grab it. Keep passing the ball this way. - Wheelbarrow walk –
The wheelbarrow walk involves one partner doing a plank while the other person holds his/her legs up. The person on the ground walks with his/her hands while the other person walks while supporting their partner. - Boxing –
This is extremely enjoyable, but just remember not to actually punch your partner! Kee the blows in the air and enjoy the workout together.
Not only are these extremely effective workouts, but they are also a lot of fun to do. Team up with your partner and get fit in an enjoyable manner.
